Our role

Advantage West Midlands fulfils its role of leading the economic development of the region by:

• developing regional policy on key priorities for the West Midlands’ economy, such as Enterprise

• bringing partners from all sectors together and encouraging them to deliver transformational change. For example leading the Regional Skills Partnership

• financially supporting a wide range of projects, from large scale land and property developments such as Fort Dunlop to environmental technology projects such as Biomass

• providing funding for independent bodies like Regional Action West Midlands – the regional voice for the voluntary and community sector

• promoting awareness of regional opportunities and influencing the policies of central government to the benefit of the West Midlands region such as we’re doing for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
