Second phase of Ludlow Eco Business Park takes a step closer

The next phase of the successful Ludlow Eco Business Park is set to move a step closer when the search for a development partner begins this week.

Ludlow Eco Business Park is owned by South Shropshire District Council and Advantage West Midlands who are now seeking a developer for the 3.3 acre commercial plot next to the A49.

The new Eco Business Park is already home to two office developments, built using the latest environmentally-friendly construction techniques.

An Enterprise Centre for small and medium-sized companies is being developed with support from the Rural Regeneration Zone in partnership with Evans Easyspace and a park and ride service is already in operation.

Advantage West Midlands and South Shropshire District Council have now put the remaining plot of land within the 12 acre site on the market with work expected to start early next year.

Stuart Kirkwood, Advantage West Midlands Development Director, said: “An incredible amount of progress has been made at Ludlow Eco Business Park in a relatively short space of time.

“We only started the first phase of the development last year and already the buildings are up and operational.

“The Eco Business Park really is an exemplar development in terms of sustainability and we are looking for the right development partner to take the site to the next stage.”

Cllr Lee Chapman, Lead Member for the Economy at South Shropshire District Council, said: “We had originally thought the first phase would meet the employment land requirement for a few more years but demand has been high.

"It’s now time to look forward and bring the rest of the site in to use and we look forward to welcoming even more jobs to Ludlow and South Shropshire.”
