West Midlands firms can find out about the enormous potential of joining a low-carbon supply chain at a major event next month.
‘Growing Green’ in West Bromwich on Thursday 18 March aims to open up huge ‘green’ opportunities to local firms and is bringing blue-chip exhibitors and expert speakers to the region, including representatives from Rolls Royce Plc, Westinghouse and Mitsubishi.
Contracts for the UK’s nuclear, renewable energy, green automotive and low-carbon construction markets are potentially worth over £8 trillion over the next 15 years and the West Midlands, with its strong tradition of innovative manufacturing and engineering, is ideally placed to capitalise on these opportunities.
For businesses who take action now, the opportunities for long-term growth are enormous.
finditinsandwell (Sandwell Council's award-winning procurement portal) in association with sponsors Advantage West Midlands, Black Country Chamber of Commerce, RESCO, Business Link and Sandwell College, is hosting this huge meet-the-buyer networking and insight day on Thursday 18 March at the Bethel Convention Centre in West Bromwich.
The aim of the event is to show the region’s engineers, manufacturers and supply chain the huge opportunities ‘Growing Green’ presents and also the opportunities to ‘turn waste into wealth’.
This not-to-be-missed event will showcase many of the Midlands’ leading experts operating within the ‘green’ market; developers and producers of renewable energy solutions, eco-building technology and greener transport solutions.
Businesses from across the West Midlands can learn first-hand how they can benefit from being part of a greener supply chain. Seminars on design innovation and environmental engineering issues are open to all delegates at this free event. They can learn what help is available now to reduce their carbon footprint, offering real benefits for their bottom-line profits.
Blue-chip speakers have already been signed up from Rolls Royce Plc, Westinghouse and the Royal Institute of British Architects. Major exhibitors include Mitsubishi, Network Rail and E.ON.
West Midlands businesses are urged to sign up for the event and not only enhance their green credentials, but potentially benefit financially too.
“If businesses would like to find out how they can profit from a greener Midlands supply chain , tackle climate change and learn how to access green development grants, then it is vital that they attend this event,” said Mark Pearce, Corporate Director for Economic Regeneration at Advantage West Midlands.
“The event will also show you how to make changes today to improve your energy efficiency and reduce your production costs tomorrow.
“At a time when the need to develop green technologies is key and following the Government’s designation of the region as a Low Carbon Economic Area for advanced automotive engineering, this event offers businesses a fantastic opportunity. We urge regionally based companies to come along and find out how they can become part of the emerging supply chain in the new low carbon economy.”
‘Growing Green: a greener, brighter, low-carbon future for YOUR business’ takes place on Thursday 18 March at the Bethel Convention Centre, Kelvin Way, West Bromwich B70 7JW.
