Herefordshire

The West Midlands Region

About Herefordshire

Located in the south-west of our region, Herefordshire is home to wooded hills, historic market towns and riverside valleys including an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the Wye Valley.

The market towns of Herefordshire have traditionally been associated as agricultural centres, however today these towns are attracting a variety of business and commercial organisations from food produce to high technology.

Many events take place in Herefordshire throughout the year including Ledbury Poetry Festival, Ross International Festival, Bromyard Folk Festival and the acclaimed Three Choirs Festival. The Cathedral used for the festival houses the Chained Library and the famous Mappa Mundi, a unique map of the world dating back to AD 1300.

The distinctive black and white market towns in Herefordshire provide an opportunity to explore the many antique shops, craft shops and specialist food outlets that the area has to offer.

There is a growing demand for cars, not a diminishing one, and over the next 20 years more new cars will be made than in the entire 110 years of the industry to date. There will be a need for 180 new car plants, typically making 330,000 cars annually and plants will need investment likely to exceed $80 Trillion. said Welsh Automotive Forum chairman Prof Garel Rhys during a NEAC conference in Wales last month.
