i54 is a 237 acre (96 hectare) major employment site at Wobaston Road, Pendeford on the boundary of South Staffordshire and Wolverhampton which is earmarked for a technology-based business park complete with its own motorway access junction, creating around 6,000 jobs.

Advantage West Midlands, together with its Joint Venture Partner, Wolverhampton City Council (Opens in new window), is developing the site along with South Staffordshire District Council (Opens in new window) as the principle planning authority.

The site will provide world class business opportunities for people within Wolverhampton and the Black Country at the gateway to the Wolverhampton Telford Technology Corridor (Opens in new window).

Status: Outline planning permission secured for 235,000 sq m of office/industrial accommodation. Remediation and on site infrastructure works have been completed and the Agency are working with the Highways Agency to deliver a direct access to the site via junction 2 of the M54 motorway. The Agency are currently in the process of selecting a development partner. The current planning permission provides for the immediate development of up to 15,000 sq m of floor space which will accessed from Wobaston Road. Larger requirements may also be accommodated at this stage subject to the requisite planning permission.
