The ERDF Programme will focus on five priority areas of activity :

• Priority 1 - Promoting Innovation and Research & Development
• Priority 2 - Stimulating Enterprise Development
• Priority 3 - Achieving Sustainable Urban Development
• Priority 4 - Developing Inter-Regional Activity
• Priority 5 - Technical Assistance

This priority aims to improve the region’s capacity to translate innovation into commercial outcomes that result in a step change in business productivity and performance.

Priority 2 – Enterprise Development

This priority aims to increase enterprise in the West Midlands in order to improve regional economic performance.

Priority 3 – Sustainable Urban Development

This priority aims to address the significant concentrations of economic need and seeks to generate major employment opportunities accessible to those communities.

This priority aims to support the three main priorities in tackling problems that are applicable to the region and to maximise learning from current and future inter-regional activity.

This priority will provide a resource which will support and contribute towards delivering the overall regional strategy by assisting the necessary activities associated with Programme management.
